Ace Pilot Training
WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE ACE PILOT TRAINING FOR MY PROFESSIONAL TRAINING?

1. Safety, Safety, Safety!
The number one, most important aspect of flight training is safety. There is no price that can be put on a person’s life. The best way to assure safety is to have air traffic control watching over your aircraft at all times.

Statistics show that most mid-air collisions occur on beautiful clear days, within 3 miles of non towered airports as aircraft approach for landing without the constant monitoring of an Air Traffic Control facility. Ace Pilot Training is the only Lehigh Valley flight training facility located at a towered airport (LVI Airport), providing the highest level of safety during all phases of flight training.

Ace Pilot Training is the only flight training facility that has their aircraft equipped with GPS tracking devices. These devices continually broadcast the aircraft position to our office while the aircraft is in flight. This allows us to know exactly where the student is located at all times during any solo flights. Not only is this an obvious safety feature, but also an invaluable training tool since the track of the aircraft can be discussed with the student, after the flight, in the classroom.

Quality aircraft maintenance is another crucial factor in assuring the safety of our students. Ace Pilot Training has their own dedicated maintenance staff devoted to assuring all of our aircraft are impeccably maintained. Our philosophy has always been to exceed FAA requirements, at any cost, to assure the highest level of safety.

2. Job Placement
Ace Pilot Training has partnered with East Coast Jets, the largest Part 135 Jet operator in the Lehigh Valley to offer the only flow through agreement for professional employment. This is not an employment guarantee, but students who train with us and subsequently instruct for us, will have their resume and a recommendation letter hand carried directly to the hiring manager of East Coast Jets and will be granted a preferential interview. This is an exclusive partnership between Ace Pilot Training and East Coast Jets offering an incredible advantage for the career minded individual!

3. VA approved
Ace Pilot Training is VA approved allowing qualified individuals to use the GI Bill to pay up to 60% of their flight training expenses.

4. Part 135 Charter Operation
AP Air Charter, a subsidiary of Ace Pilot Training is our own Part 135 charter operation. This allows us to offer charter services to various destinations in the Northeast.

5. Ownership
Ace Pilot Training has been owned and operated since its inception in 1992, by the same individual. The owner and President of the corporation, Gus Yialamas, an eight thousand hour plus pilot with over five thousand hours of general aviation flight instruction experience, is the cornerstone of the organization. His vast aviation experience including airline employment, make him a person who understands what it takes to provide the highest level of flight training. Dedication, hard work and the pursuit of excellence is what has made Ace Pilot Training the number one flight training facility in the Lehigh Valley.

6. Staff
The flight instructor staff at Ace Pilot Training is hand picked by Gus Yialamas, the owner and Chief Flight Instructor. Certified Instructor candidates are screened by a rigorous evaluation of their flying abilities, knowledge level, teaching abilities and professionalism. Only the top 20-25 percent of the applicants are hired, assuring the highest level of Instruction for our clients.

7. The largest fleet of aircraft
Ace Pilot Training offers the largest aircraft fleet in the Lehigh Valley. The fleet of eleven aircraft consists of 5 Piper Cherokee 140’s, a Cessna 152, a 2000 model year Cessna 172S, a Mooney M20, a Piper Seneca twin engine aircraft, and two Schweizer 300 CBi Helicopters. With a fleet of eleven aircraft to choose from, scheduling issues are virtually eliminated.

8. The nicest facilities
Ace Pilot Training is conveniently located in Hangar 7 at the LVI airport. Our facilities are on the first floor of the LCCC airport site building. Students can schedule their lessons between their classes and simply come downstairs for their flight training. Our beautiful facilities provide a comfortable, professional environment conducive to learning.

9. Excellent financing available
Ace Pilot Training offers aviation loans designed specifically for flight training allowing students to borrow up to the full cost of all of their flight training needs.

10. Superior flight training
From their very first lesson, students training at Ace Pilot Training at the LVI Airport are exposed to, and naturally become proficient with radio communication and air traffic control procedures. These skills are the same as those needed at the nation’s largest and busiest airports such as Philadelphia, Newark and JFK. These skills are crucial for anyone preparing for professional employment in the airline industry or corporate aviation.

The aircraft at Ace Pilot Training are equipped with voice activated cockpit recorders. These recorders capture all communications between the instructor and the student as well as communications between air traffic control and the training aircraft. Students are permitted to take the recordings with them at the end of each lesson. The tapes are reviewed by the students, on their own time. This greatly enhances learning and results in highly skilled pilots.

11. CATS – Computer Assisted Testing Service
Ace Pilot Training is the only CATS facility in the Lehigh Valley. We have been approved by the FAA to administer all airman knowledge tests on the premises. These tests are a required part of the training of all Professional Pilot Students.

12. Online Scheduling
Scheduling is done on the internet via a 24 hour online scheduling system. Keys are also available 24 hours a day for any of our aircraft, if you qualify, by way of a secure key access system in the lobby of Hangar 7.

13. FAA approved Flight Simulator
In March of 2007, Ace Pilot Training became the only Lehigh Valley flight training facility to offer the Elite RC-1 Flight Simulator. The RC-1 is FAA approved for both FAR part 61 and part 141 training. Flight simulation is a great way to work on those troubled areas while reducing the cost of training.
